2007 Goals
- Engage in creative and effective ministries of evangelism, outreach, and
discipleship.
- What: Each committee shall develop specific ministry goals in this area.

- Pastors engage in spiritual leadership in the local community.
- What: The pastors shall provide ministry
and spiritual leadership beyond the
walls of Asbury.
- Who: Pastors
- Develop the gifts, graces, and unity of the staff.
- What: Nurture the God-given spiritual gifts
and graces within the staff, and
help the staff grow in unity in ministry.
- Who: Staff Parish Relations Committee,
Pastors
- Develop unity in the congregation.
- What: Help develop a common sense of
ministry, prayer, and belonging among
all members of Asbury.
- Who: Fellowship Team, Worship
Committee, Administrative Board
- Practice effective communication within the church, and effectively communicate
with the wider Webster City community.
- What:
- Distinct committees shall communicate effectively their ministry
goals and plans with the other committees of the church.
- The upcoming events and ministries shall be communicated
effectively to all persons of the church.
- Utilize print and other media to communicate upcoming
ministries.
- Establish a Communications Team to coordinate the communication
of ministries and events.

- Develop opportunities for new member involvement and discipleship.

- Develop the mentoring program.
- Establish standard means of entry for Christian Education
and Discipleship

- Develop opportunities for existing members to grow in involvement and discipleship.

- Develop a path for spiritual growth and discipleship.
- Refine the ministry fair to increase its effectiveness.
- Have twelve people participate in Walk to Emmaus or Crisillo.
- Have twelve people participate in each of Disciple I and Disciple
II Bible studies.
- Have twelve people participate in each of Beginnings I
and Beginnings II.

- Engage in age-specific ministries (children, youth, young adult, and senior) as
well as inter-generational ministries.

- Establish at least one specific ministry for each generation.
- Establish standing cross-generational ministries.

- Enhance our worship services to bring people into closer relationships with God
and with each other.
- What: Continue to engage in worship that
is faithful and engaging.

- Improve our outreach to the sick, shut-ins, and home-bound.

- Expand the Care Team to eight people.
- Establish Stephen Ministries with two coordinators and ten
Stephen Ministers.

- Develop a clear definition of membership expectations.
- What: Commission a team of twelve people
reflect on faithful membership
in the Church and expectations of current and new members of Asbury United
Methodist Church.
- Who: Administrative Board
- Commit to starting a "new ministry of transformation and outreach" to coincide with
Asbury’s 150th anniversary celebration.
- What:
- Commission a team of eight people to consider what ministry would
be transformative in the life of Asbury.
- Establish this transformative ministry by July 1, 2007 to
coordinate with the 150th celebration of Asbury.

- The Finance and Trustees committees will enable the fulfillment of the above listed
goals and ministries of the church.
- What: The Finance and Trustees committees
will be committed to providing
the financial and the facility support to engage in vibrant ministry.
