Memorial Garden

As one component of renovating the church building and grounds in our “Prepare Ye the Way” Capital Campaign, we will be building a Memorial Garden on the south side of the church property.  The pioneer Daniel Killian who deeded the land where our church sits gave it to us so that it might “be a church and burying ground forever.”  We’ve been pretty good in continuing to be a church, but our graveyard is full and there is no more room to bury church members who have gone on to their final reward.  In order that we might continue to be a “burying ground” forever, we will be constructing a new Memorial Garden where the cremated remains of our church faithful can be scattered or interred.

Target for Completion: 2016

Memorial Garden Location

We hope to see the Memorial Garden construction completed some time in 2016 (along with a number of other exterior projects like new landscaping, parking, and better handicapped accessibility to the church).  Work should begin in the Summer of 2016 with completion of construction expected to finish before the Winter.

The Memorial Garden will be a serene spot filled with beautiful gardens and plantings along with spaces to sit and pathways for walking through the garden.  There will be a bronze wall plaque where the names of individuals memorialized in the garden will be placed.  For more details, you can download a copy of the Memorial Garden Policy that the Trustees of the church have developed in the link below.  Please note that changes to the Memorial Garden Policy may occur at any time.  Please contact the Church Office for a copy of the most recent policy.
